Design & Installation of 3 New Steam Sterilizers at VAMC Long Beach

KAL was tasked to replace 1 non-working and 1 old sterilizer with 3 new steam sterilizers in the existing Supply Processing and Distribution Plant at the VAMC Long Beach. ​ The project scope included evaluation of the existing available space, maintaining the existing integrity of the clean and dirty areas around the sterilizers during construction, evaluation of the new structural, steam, plumbing, power requirements of the new equipment, and ensure that the utility point of connections and all of the components of the new equipment were added in the design. ​ KAL developed construction phasing drawings which reflected 1 sterilizers remaining operational at all times.
