KAL Architects provided A-E Services for the development of a multi-modal transportation Center in the City of Indio, California. KAL Architects completed the design of over 28,000 sq. ft. Multi-Model Transportation Center, consisting of tenant areas for transportation related services for rail, bus and car and possibly a meeting area for the community. It has a landscaped site with parking for over 200 cars, buses, taxies and shuttle buses. Designs were prepared for the construction of a two story steel frame building with steel moment and brace frames and concrete roof tiles, a on-grade concrete floor with grade beams with concrete foundations, mechanical fan coil units, interior lighting, telephone, data, fire sprinklers and alarm system. The proposed project included several Architectural Design features, to make a visual impact and a public focal point for the City of Indio. The site layout took into consideration of segregation of bus, vehicular and pedestrian traffic circulation. The project involved several design meeting to finalize the design, interface with the city, and several transit agencies, utility companies, city departments, and discussions with the potential tenants of the facility. |
