Founded in 1991 and based in Irvine, CA, KAL Architects has provided nationwide support for federal healthcare facility A-E design since 1998. From our company’s founding, a major corporate objective has been to provide quality-based design services to the wide variety of public and private sector clients located in our principal service area of Southern California. We have been able to consistently achieve this goal though a series of indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) A-E prime contracts and single-task assignments for multiple agencies and departments of the United States government, as well as local authorities, and private industry. We have fortunately had the opportunity to extend the geographic range of our provided services across the nation.
As Prime Contractor, we have had the opportunity to work on a number of facilities from the initial design phase, through construction. As a full service firm, we additionally hold a contractor’s license to fully be able to carry our designs through to the construction phase. As a firm, we value the principles of sustainable design and strive to adhere to the LEED- sustainable principals when undertaking new projects. Over half of our staff is LEED Accredited and many of our projects have been designed to achieve a rating of LEED Silver or better.
We employ a variety of state of the art technology to best serve our clients. Not only do we utilize the most up to date AutoCAD software, we also implement the use of the Adobe Creative Suite and REVIT to aid in the creation of detailed, realistic 3D rendering/modelling of our work, as well as Bentley Microstation, an innovative way to integrate traditional 2D drawings and 3D models, providing a seamless transition between drafting and reality.
We have worked on a number of projects that required an additional level of security protection. As a prime contractor to the Federal Government, we have extensive experience incorporating Anti-Terrorism Force Protection requirements in accordance with DOD standards. In addition, all of our employees have clearance with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and many have been screened by the Government.
